  • Most commonly caused by an accessory pathway (bundle of Kent<\/strong>) connecting atria to ventricles, bypassing AV node<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Acute treatment:\n
      \n
    • Orthodromic (narrow complex): vagal maneuvers, AV nodal blockers (adenosine, beta-blocker, calcium channel blocker)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Antidromic (wide complex): procainamide<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Synchronized cardioversion for hemodynamically unstable patients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Definitive treatment is radiofrequency ablation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
